Jim Hedman

Rector

Father Jim, a “cradle” Episcopalian and native Floridian, lives in Bradenton with his wife, Amanda, their sons, John, Nathanael, and Zachary.  Fr. Hedman received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Science Education from the University of South Florida in 1994, and a Master of Divinity Degree from the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest, in 2004. Before going to seminary, he taught biology at Cardinal Mooney High School for seven years.

Prior to being called as the vicar of St.MM’s, Fr. Hedman served as an assistant priest at the Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota. Fr. Hedman serves as the chair of the Manatee Community College Chaplaincy board and as a Spiritual Advisor for Vocare, a diocesan young adult renewal ministry.

“My prayer is that we, as the body of Christ at St.MM’s, will live out Christ call to his disciples.”  ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.’
